1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RoomHives, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Service Description

RoomHives is a comprehensive flatmate management application that helps users:

Core Features:

• Create and manage shared living spaces (flats/PGs)
• Coordinate with roommates
• Track shared expenses and split bills
• Manage tasks and assignments
• Maintain shared shopping lists
• Track recurring bills and reminders
• Record payments and settlements
• Organize expenses into groups
• Receive notifications and reminders
• Manage flat-related communications

The service is provided via mobile application (iOS and Android).

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• If you are under 18, you should have parental consent to use this app
• You must provide accurate information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must keep your login credentials secure

3.2 Account Types

• Viewer: Limited access to app features
• Member: Full access to flat features
• Flat Admin: Management privileges for specific flat
• Super Admin: Platform-wide administration

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the service legally and appropriately
• Respect other users' privacy and rights
• Maintain accurate flat and expense information
• Not misuse or abuse the platform
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Settle payments with roommates outside the app
• Not use the service for any illegal purposes

5. Flat Management

5.1 Creating a Flat

• Must provide accurate flat information
• Responsible for managing member access
• Must comply with local housing laws

5.2 Joining a Flat

• Requires valid invitation or code
• Must accept flat-specific rules
• Agree to expense sharing terms

5.3 Leaving a Flat

• Must settle all pending payments before leaving
• Flat admins must transfer admin rights before leaving

6. Content and Conduct

6.1 Prohibited Content

• Illegal or harmful content
• Discriminatory material
• False or misleading information
• Spam or unauthorized advertising
• Harassment or abusive content

6.2 User Behavior

• Respect other users
• No harassment or abuse
• No unauthorized data collection
• No system interference
• No impersonation of others

7. Financial Tracking and Payments

7.1 Expense Tracking

• RoomHives helps you track and split expenses among flatmates
• The app calculates who owes whom based on expense records
• We do NOT process actual payments between users

7.2 Payment Settlement

• Users are responsible for settling payments outside the app
• The app only records that a payment was made
• We are not liable for disputes over actual payments

7.3 Service Fees

• RoomHives is currently free to use
• We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future
• Users will be notified before any paid features are introduced

7.4 Financial Records

• Expense records are for informational purposes only
• We do not provide tax advice or official financial statements
• Users are responsible for their own tax reporting

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account if you:

• Violate these terms
• Provide false information
• Engage in prohibited behavior
• Misuse the service
• Fail to respond to our communications

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Service Provided "As Is"

• No guarantees of uninterrupted service
• Not responsible for user disputes
• Not liable for financial losses between users
• No warranty of accuracy of calculations

9.2 Limitation of Liability

• Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are not liable for loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• No liability for user-generated content or actions

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 RoomHives Ownership

• The RoomHives app, logo, and all related materials are owned by us
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app without permission
• "RoomHives" and the RoomHives logo are our trademarks

10.2 User Content

• You retain ownership of content you create (expense descriptions, task notes, etc.)
• By using RoomHives, you grant us a license to store and display your content as necessary to provide the service
• This license ends when you delete your content or account

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which RoomHives is registered and operates.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of RoomHives shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the applicable jurisdiction.

Before initiating any legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute through good faith negotiations for at least 30 days.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Your continued use of RoomHives after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when these terms were last revised.
